fonts-sil-gentium-basic software package provides smart Unicode font families (Basic and Book Basic) based on Gentium, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-sil-gentium-basic
fonts-sil-gentium-basic is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-sil-gentium-basic package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-sil-gentium-basic *
You will get with fonts-sil-gentium-basic package name, version, architecture and description in a table
